ABOUT ME
Natalie Thurman
I am a British Artist, Illustrator, Photographer and Author based in Kenilworth, Warwickshire.
Here I am with part of Team T (Magneto the cat and Mystique the dog are not in this photo). This image is one of the few, where I am actually in the photo with my family and not behind the camera. It was taken at a local Bubble Rush Event and as we got totally covered in different colours, I thought it would be a good picture to post.
From the age of 12, when I created my first comic, Frog Fun, my dream was to be an illustrator and artist, this motivated me during lockdown (when homeschooling my children) to create my books and I also cycled around most of Kenilworth taking photos to support the community and to raise money for the NHS.
I have enjoyed living in different places in the UK, Germany and Qatar. I started my journey in Frimley and I am the eldest of four children. When I lived with my parents, I used my imagination to create stories to entertain my younger siblings and always enjoyed drawing, however, my career followed a different path when I studied German at University in the UK and in Landshut, Germany. I went on to enjoy a career in Sales & Account Management, Market Research and more recently Learning & Development.
In 2013, Team T decided to relocate to Doha, Qatar and there I became a professional photographer and photographed over a 100 families and worked for the British Embassy in Qatar, the British Chamber of Commerce in Qatar and for schools and nurseries.
In 2016 we moved back to the UK, to Kenilworth and I continued to be a part time photographer and artist and started working in L&D.
Now, I am part of Kenilworth Artists, Leamington Studio Artists and Warwick Open Studios. I have been featured in both the press (Leamington Courier, The Washington Post) and regularly on the Radio (BBC CWR Radio) promoting my books and art work. I have also visited local Schools and Brownies and helped children to create their very own 'Dogdog' paintings!
As a result of taking part in Art In the Park 2021, my 'Leamington Elephant' collection prints and greeting cards are on display at Leamington Spa Art Gallery & Museum.
My books are for sale at Kenilworth Books and my Greeting Cards at Windy Arbour News.
Due to requests to purchase prints and cards of my images, I decided to open my own online shop. This is it!
